Lyn Aerospace has received Radar Open System Architecture (ROSA) technology through technology transfer from Massachusetts Institute of Technology / Lincoln Laboratory (MIT/LL) in 2012, 2016, and 2020. This is proven radar software technology used by the Kwajalein (Reagan Test Site), the Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF), the Western and Eastern Range, and the U.S. Air Force Technical Applications Center (AFTAC). The primary use for ROSA is for Wideband Imaging Radar applications.

ROSA LYN AEROSPACE ® has been developed from the basic technology transfers Lyn Aerospace has received from MIT/LL and is a hybrid radar software program that implements enhanced algorithmic principles that not only improve the functionality of Wideband Imaging Radar but also for Precision Range Instrumentation Radar systems.

ROSA LYN AEROSPACE ® incorporates enhancements that allow new or modernized legacy fully coherent radar systems to experience enhanced radar range resolution for more timely Time, Space, Position Information (TSPI) data utilizing Linear Frequency Modulated (LFM) waveforms, matched filtering, and stretch processing to name a few. Additionally, our radar software facilitates sustainment by decoupling subsystem hardware reliance and dependencies from the software allowing continuous radar improvement with the continuing development of new Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) hardware. This Whole Life Management approach through decoupled software allows radar asset managers to more cost effectively manage hardware obsolescence issues that in the past have caused radar systems to become non-functional assets.

Many range customers are choosing ROSA LYN AEROSPACE ® for their radar modernization efforts. Our software is now used in modernized legacy range radar systems such as the AN/FPS-16, AN/MPS-25, TPQ-18, FPQ-10, DR COSIP and XTR-1 systems.
